TECHFEST Mekong 2022: unlocking the potential for developing an innovative startup ecosystem in the Mekong Delta region

The Mekong Delta Innovation and Startup Festival – TECHFEST Mekong 2022 was a great success. The event attracted hundreds of experts, businesses, investment funds, and international corporations to attend, exchange, connect, and propose solutions for socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta, meeting the requirements of the 4.0 industrial revolution. 

TECHFEST Mekong 2022 is considered one of the large-scale innovation and startup festivals this year. The event is organized by the People's Committee of Can Tho City in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises, and the FUNDGO Creative Startup Investment Fund.

The program was attended by representatives of ministries, departments, and branches: Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Van Tung, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Le Quang Manh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City; Mr. Pham Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City; Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, along with a number of leaders of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region and prestigious domestic and foreign experts, organizations, corporations, enterprises, and innovation and startup support networks.

The event takes place over two days, October 19-20, 2022, with activities being implemented in parallel such as: Competition to Find Innovative Startup Talents in the Mekong Delta Region; Launching Ceremony of the Innovative Startup Advisory Network in Can Tho City; Signing Ceremony of Investment Cooperation between FUNDGO Innovative Startup Investment Fund and projects such as: HanaGold, Samaki Power, Hesman Legend, Bami Pawn Shop, Delta Labs, Zwave Academy, Run Together; and seminars related to innovative startups.

Aiming to create conditions for startups to exchange, learn, and introduce outstanding scientific and technological achievements, the event has implemented exhibition activities of innovative startup products and projects, domestic and international scientific and technological products. Here, FUNDGO and projects and companies in the Fund's ecosystem have displayed innovative technological products and attracted the attention of many visitors. In particular, the Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City visited the exhibition booth of technological sports shoes. Run Together. Both expressed their excitement at the first NFC chip shoe product in Vietnam. He highly appreciated the innovation of the project team in bringing superior products, applying advanced technology to bring the "made in Vietnam" sports product line to the world market.

Speaking about the festival, Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong - Director TRUSTpay Joint Stock Company, the management unit of FUNDGO Fund, shared: “TECHFEST Mekong 2022 is a large-scale event, contributing to connecting resources to support the startup ecosystem of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region with provinces and cities nationwide and internationally. This is also an opportunity for individuals and innovative startups to access new ideas and knowledge. In the role of a companion unit, FUNDGO has supported and created all conditions for the festival to bring many values to the Vietnamese innovative startup community. The Mekong Delta Innovation and Startup Festival 2022 – TECHFEST Mekong 2022 has officially closed after two exciting days with many meaningful activities.
