On September 16, 2022, the Department of Planning and Investment of Can Tho City coordinated with the Department of Enterprise Development (Ministry of Planning and Investment) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to organize a Consultation Workshop on implementing support policies for women-owned SMEs in Can Tho City. The event took place successfully at TTC Can Tho Hotel, No. 02 Hai Ba Trung, Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City.
The program was attended by leaders of the Department of Enterprise Development, leaders of departments and branches, representatives of the Can Tho City Women Entrepreneurs Association and female-owned businesses in the area.
Guests and delegates took souvenir photos at the conference.
The workshop aimed to consult on the report on the results of the Study on the implementation of policies for women-owned SMEs, and to discuss and develop a plan of activities to support women entrepreneurs. In particular, the order of priorities and activities to support women-owned SMEs were also clarified and detailed for the period 2022 - 2025. In addition, support packages to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic for women-owned SMEs when borrowing capital from commercial banks were also informed to businesses.

Attending the workshop, Ms. Bui Thi Lan Anh - member of FundGo Creative Startup Investment Fund clearly recognized the role and importance of female entrepreneurs as well as the difficulties they face. Ms. Lan Anh shared:“FundGo highly appreciates the practical value that the workshop brings. The information shared and exchanged at the workshop is really necessary in understanding the contributions and difficulties that female entrepreneurs encounter in the process of owning a business. From there, the government, departments and branches build practical support policies for female entrepreneurs. With available resources, FundGo is ready to become one of the fulcrums, helping female entrepreneurs to start creative businesses to make faster and more solid progress, thereby contributing to the overall development of the country.”

The Consultation Workshop on the Implementation of Support Policies for Women-Owned SMEs in Can Tho City has brought great practical values. The information shared and exchanged at the workshop has contributed to promoting the change and development of women-owned SMEs. It is believed that, with the support solutions proposed and recommended at the event, women-owned SMEs in particular and SMEs in general will increasingly reach further, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese economy.
