Can Tho Heritage Marathon 2022: Run Together Continues the Journey with Runners to Conquer Their Limitations

On December 3 and 4, Run Together supported Can Tho Heritage Marathon 2022, energizing the final days of the year with vibrant running routes alongside the lyrical Hau River's banks. 

Can Tho Heritage Marathon is one of the biggest international running events in Vietnam. It was launched in 2019 and is anticipated to be held annually in the Mekong Delta's capital,. The tournament has officially joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors and is valid from 2022. 

Duc Huong Anh Co., Ltd. (DHA Vietnam) and Vietnam Athletics Federation are in charge of organizing this year's Can Tho Heritage Marathon in Song Hau Park Square in the Ninh Kieu District of Can Tho. The organizing committee hopes to encourage community participation in exercise and sports by providing a practical and professional playground for individuals who enjoy running. This is also an opportunity to introduce the beauty of nature, cultural values, cuisine and people of the Southwest region in particular as well as the country and people of Vietnam in general.

Thousands of runners gathered and urgently prepared to start competing.

The race attracted nearly 6,000 domestic and international runners, the top national and elite runners in Vietnam to participate in conquering 5 men's/women's distances (42KM, 21KM, 10KM, 5KM for adults and 5KM for children), in which athletes start and finish at Song Hau Park. The route of the running track is intended to go by well-known Tay Do historical sights including the Ninh Kieu Quay, Ninh Kieu Pedestrian Bridge, Chau Van Liem High School, Cai Rang Floating Market, Binh Thuy Ancient House, etc. Runners ran down tree-lined paths as they took in the lovely natural surroundings and the beauty of the warm and welcoming people of the West.

The marathon provides an opportunity for runners to try, exchange and connect with each other.

The runners competed with enthusiasm and full of energy. Eventually, the organizing committee awarded first, second, third and additional prizes to runners with excellent results in each distance. In particular, at the 42KM distance, first prizes were awarded to Mr. Hoang Van Hon with a record of 2 hours 50 minutes 59 seconds and Ms. Tran Thi Hoa with a record of 3 hours 20 minutes 27 seconds.

Hopefully, this will be the driving force for the marathon to perfect and promote the mission of spreading the spirit of "sports for health" to the running-loving community across the country.
